𝟏) 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐩
Shining a security light onto your skip may deter them from this kind of nocturnal mischief; even better if you can use a motion-sensitive light.

𝟐) 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐩
Covering your skip with a tarpaulin is a good way to signal that it is off-limits & makes it more difficult for people passing by to toss their rubbish into the skip.

𝟑) 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
If possible, place your skip in your driveway or garden, rather than leaving it on the street. People are more likely to accept that a skip is for private use if it is located on private property.

Filling your skip up quickly is the most effective strategy. If it’s already full, no one can put anything in it!

Let your neighbours know you’re planning to hire a skip before it arrives & make it clear that you intend to use most of the skip’s capacity yourself. Not everyone who uses another person’s skip is necessarily aware that it’s a problem!
